HANG OUT: Best Friends Podcast Live

Listening to Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata’s Best Friends podcast is like eavesdropping on the popular kids’ messy group call, all the filthy details of real life spilled out with the kind of humor, humility, candor and roasting of truly intimate friendship. For fans of the two viral comics, this show will almost certainly fill your cup, and if the whole idea of besties feels hella foreign to you, come through and check out the camp filth you’re missing out on by not bestfriending. Portland is a stylish city—full stop. Our sartorial prowess must include all manner of dress. Our winter fits are as showstopping as our summer rags. And never more so than at our annual FashioNXT week—a runway production recognized as a leader in the pack of regional fashion weeks following behind New York’s. Fashionistas, pull up to the red carpet and represent the NW because trends come and go, but style is forever. 1 Financial Center, 121 SW Morrison St., fashionxt.com. LEARN: An Introduction to Color Season Analysis

If your social feed has ever deposited a viral clip of someone getting something called a color analysis, the algorithm assumes you will find value in this analysis-driven lecture. Cristie Austin, a local color expert and hair salon owner who is “internationally certified in Korean Color Analysis,” will speak on all things personal color analysis, a field that has expanded far past simple tonal binaries and complementary shades. Jordan Schnitzer School of Art + Art History + Design, 1981 SW Broadway, pdx.edu/art-design. 1–2 pm Saturday, Oct. 10. Free.

GO: Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show

In case you missed it, parents of Portland, Bluey’s Big Play is here. If your kids are as bananas for this program as the zeitgeist proclaims, then it’s urgent that you both round up your littles and fortify yourself for an extended theatrical adaptation of your child’s favorite Australian cartoon dog family. Your kids will (probably) love it, and you, the parent, will get a cherished memory that will hopefully last long past puberty wipes their brains and the hormones take over. Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 SW Broadway, portland5.com. 6 pm Monday, Oct. 12. $40.

GATHER: Night Owl: Women and Gender Diverse Music Industry Gathering

The great awakening is upon us, and as femme energy overtakes the fold, events like Night Owl become more crucial than ever. For musicians on the margins of male-dominated spaces like music production, events such as this Artichoke Music gathering set the foundation for industry takeovers that move with the grace of an all-consuming tidal wave, and build back with the fortitude of an evergreen forest. Artichoke Music, 2007 SE Powell Blvd., artichokemusic.org. 6:30 pm Tuesday, Oct. 13. $23.
