These Are The 10 Highest-Paying Jobs in Oregon

Your job probably didn't make the list.

The newest list to make you reconsider your whole life comes from career site Zippia, the folks responsible for the 10 Most Successful Cities in Oregon (Portland is not included) and the 10 Laziest Places in Oregon. This time, they listed the 100 highest-paying jobs in Oregon.

They combed U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics for all 705 job classifications to see who makes the most, and listed the top 100, including average salary, entry-level salary and the number of people in the position. If you make less than $82,000— your job probably didn't even make the list.

"Dentists and all other specialists" make the most amount of money in Oregon, with an average salary of $238,260. Medical-related jobs round out the top nine, with Chief Executives coming in at number 10, with an average salary of $167,950. Most of this isn't surprising. One curveball, though, is that sociologists made the list, coming in at 97, making $82,290.

An interesting side note: Doctors and dentists have a reputation for ranking high on Top Professions with the Highest Suicide Rates lists.

But even people who make less than $238,260 can't even take twisted comfort in this stat. Because in a turn of events, the CDC released an updated list of occupational suicide rates. Dentists come in at no. 12, while "Farmworkers, fishermen, lumberjacks, others in forestry or agriculture" come in at no. 1, followed by construction trades.

Anyway, these are the top 10, plus their entry-level salary, average salary and the number of people in the job.
