Pho Van

Pho Van was where many Portlanders first discovered Vietnamese food, and it still stands proud as some of the best in town. Case in point: the Bánh Xèo ($7.95), a huge pile of bean sprouts, pork and onions wrapped in a turmeric-tinted, sweet and eggy crepe. You must have this before you die. More health-conscious diners should check out one of Pho Van's many vermicelli noodle bowls ($7.75-$11.50). (CJ)
