Clackamas County Chairwoman Lynn Peterson Joining Kitzhaber Staff

Clackamas County Chairwoman Lynn Peterson, who had considered running in last year's Democratic primary for governor, is joining the cabinet of Gov. John Kitzhaber.

Kitzhaber's office announced this afternoon that Peterson will resign on March 11 as chairwoman of the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners to become the Democratic governor's adviser for sustainable communities and transportation policy.

Peterson's history before heading the Clackamas County Commission includes stints as a transportation consultant, a strategic planning manager for TriMet. a transportation advocate for 1000 Friends of Oregon and a transportation planner for Metro.

Also announced this afternoon was the fact that Patricia McCaig, who was Kitzhaber's campaign manager and a consultant on the Columbia River Crossing project, will be Kitzhaber's lead adviser on the CRC.
