Karol Collymore Quits Her Job at Multnomah County

 Karol Collymore, who ran an unsuccessful campaign to join the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners last year, is stepping down from her job as an aide to Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen.

Collymore could not immediately be reached for comment. Her last day in her $67,000 $68,750-a-year job as a senior policy adviser to Cogen is Thursday, March 31.

"Karol has been with my office since 2007 and she has done great work for Multnomah County on issues such as sustainability, libraries and communications," Cogen was quoted as saying in a prepared statement. "She has decided to pursue interests outside county government. Karol will be missed, but we're excited about her future endeavors."

As for her immediate plans, Collymore—who lived in New Mexico prior to Portland—had this to say yesterday on Twitter:


Earlier this month, Collymore briefly shut down some followers' access to her Twitter account after Collymore Tweeted at work, in a possible violation of county policy.
