City Hall: Eileen Brady Nears Announcement on Mayoral Run

Eileen Brady, a co-founder of New Seasons Markets, continues to move toward challenging Mayor Sam Adams in the May 2012 primary.

More than a month after first announcing her interest in the race, Brady says she's had conversations with Gov. John Kitzhaber's pollster, Dave Metz of the California-based Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates. She's also talked with veteran campaign operative Jef Green. "I'm talking to a lot of people," Brady tells WW. "I'm trying to assess my fundraising capacity."

Last month, as The Oregonian first reported, Brady formed a campaign fundraising committee. Brady, who previously toyed with the idea of running for Portland mayor (and for U.S. senator in 2008 against then-Sen. Gordon Smith), says she'll announce her intentions for 2012 at the end of this month.
