The proposed but increasingly unlikely Portland to Lake Oswego street-car project has roiled Lake Oswego city politics in recent months and years.
Now a familiar face, former State Rep. Greg Macpherson (D-Lake Oswego) is pondering a run for the mayor's seat currently held by Jack Hoffman, who, like Macpherson works as a Portland lawyer. Hoffman has been a vocal supporter of the street-car project, which the Lake Oswego city council voted to halt last week.
Macpherson gave up his legislative seat to run for attorney general in 2008 (he lost to John Kroger in the Democratic primary) and has made no secret of his desire to serve in public office again.
"I'm strongly considering running," Macpherson told WW today.
