Jefferson Smith Gets His Own Radio Show On Carl Wolfson's Talk Station

The show is called Thank You Democracy.

Jefferson Smith

Political pundits have been speculating since November where former Rep. Jefferson Smith (D-East Portland) would land after losing the mayor's race to Charlie Hales.

Answer: on Carl Wolfson's internet talk radio station.

Wolfson announced today that starting July 18, Smith will host a new show called Thank You Democracy at 9 am Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The show will follow Wolfson's program, Carl in the Morning, which runs from 7 am to 9 am weekdays.

"Each episode of Thank You Democracy will take a topic and cover that topic from various angles," Wolfson writes. "The show will benefit from Jefferson's network of relationships, as well as his experience as an activist, nationally recognized non-profit executive, advisor to elected officials, as well as a candidate and office-holder himself."

Wolfson launched his internet radio show in February after Clear Channel axed progressive talk radio station KPOJ 620 AM last November.

Smith has subbed in as a guest host this spring while Wolfson is on vacation.
